'Serene Cuisine' Menu 4/9/15

Hello From My Kitchen



I've had a very interesting and diverse week in the kitchen this week spending quite a bit of time testing several new recipes after an enquiry from a client on a 'low FODMAP diet.'

My client has kindly supplied me with a complete list of foods she needs to avoid, as well as a list of those that she can consume in generous quantities to assist me in planning some tasty, nutritious and 'safe' dishes for her.

 I am loving the challenge of combining my vegan cooking experience with that of a low FODMAP diet and am confident of being able to bring some variety into her eating regime. 


Veganising An Old Fashioned Favourite


This week on the menu, I will be putting a vegan twist on the old fashioned 'hot pack' for those of you (as old as me) who remember them.

The hot pack will include one of my delicious Veggie and Chickpea Burgers and a creamy Sweet Potato Mash served with a variety of winter veggies which will be topped with a thick and hearty herbed gravy.


Herb and Garlic Bread is also on the menu for those of you looking for something a little extra on the side.



Chocolate....Again.


On this week's dessert menu, are my very popular and decadent Oreo Topped Chocolate Muffins. Need I say more?



Frank's Snack Boxes


Frank Snack Boxes will feature on the 'extras' menu again this week and have proven to be a huge hit with those wanting to try a selection of what I have to offer in the way of sweet and healthy treats and are a great idea for office morning or afternoon teas. 

 The contents of the boxes will vary in the coming weeks as I offer different combinations for you to try.

This week the selection will consist of decadent Mini Chocolate Muffins, Sultana and Walnut Cake, Mini Orange and Oatbran Muffins and Energy Bites.

These are on the menu under the heading of Frank's Extras.

**Please submit your orders for these as early as possible as I will only have a limited number available each week.**





Frank's Extras


My Marinated and Crumbed Tofu Steaks  will again feature on the 'extras' menu this for those of you who are curious as to what the amazingly prepared, incredibly delicious tofu experience is really like.

These yummy tofu steaks are marinated overnight in my unique blend of sauces, herbs and spices and crumbed in a seasoned wholegrain crumb before being gently fried in extra virgin olive oil.

I was absolutely thrilled by the number of folks who contacted me after trying this delicacy last week with some very positive feedback which is exactly the type of feedback I had anticipated.


Order Cut Off Time Change



Due to the growth of my customer base and the increasing number of meals I am preparing for delivery each Friday, I am moving the order cut off time back 24 hrs to the Wednesday evening of the week you are ordering for.
In the first month, I was able to easily prepare all meals the morning of delivery if I managed a 4am start. 
The  number of orders is now so great, that I will need to close orders on Wednesday @ 6pm to enable me to finalise numbers, buy in stock and prepare meals in time for delivery on Friday morning.

I appreciate your cooperation with this change and hope that it works for all of us.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 28/8/15

Hello From My Kitchen


As another week unfolds in the just frank kitchen, cooking for my Friday 'Serene Cuisine' menu is proving to be only a small part of my week as my list of special orders clients grows by the day.

Gluten-free, lactose-free, food intolerances and individual food preferences are all reasons for clients to seek out an individually tailored menu to select from and in turn, have meals prepared just the way they need/like them.

Feel free to contact me to discuss your needs if you fall into any of these categories.
As is always the case, anything from the just frank kitchen is meat, egg and dairy free and I use locally sourced organic produce wherever possible.


A Touch Of Asia

An Oriental flavour appears on the menu this week with my adaptation of a traditional Chow Mein recipe.

I have chosen to make this dish noodle-free to cater for those of you who are gluten sensitive and as quite a few of the traditional Asian noodles are egg based, it was another reason to omit them.

A selection of shredded veggies will form the basis of this delicious and wholesome meal with the addition of some nutritionally dense lentils. 
These will be combined with a blend of carefully chosen spices and sauces and then finally topped with seasoned and roasted cashew nuts.


Just Like Mum Used To Make


On this week's dessert menu, I will be offering Golden Syrup Dumplings, just like my Mum used to make, except that I have tweaked the recipe to make them dairy free to fit with the cruelty-free, vegan lifestyle theme.

I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't love this sweet and hearty dessert topped with ice cream, which these will be served with and which will also be dairy free.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 21/8/15

Hello From My Kitchen



Hello once again as this week I begin spending time in the test kitchen working on some new recipes in preparation for Spring as we begin to see a glimpse of some warmer weather here and there, and although I know we still have a wait ahead of us, there's that glimmer of hope that keeps me going.


Soup With A Twist


As we still encounter the chilly, tail end of winter, this week's menu will reflect this with a beautiful creamy soup in the offering.

Sweet Potato, Zucchini and Leek are the key ingredients for this hearty veggie soup, and when topped with a Cashew Nut and Parsley Pesto, this creamy, delicious and nutrient      dense soup is sure to warm away the winter chills.

A Garlic and Herb Scone is also on the menu and makes the perfect 'soup dipper.'




Everyone's Favourite Dessert



The most popular dessert that has been on my menu by far is my Apple Cake with Cinnamon Frosting and Walnuts, and with that said, it is back on the menu again this week.

Moist dairy-free butter cake with a layer of organic apple and cinnamon through the centre forms the basis of this delectable dessert and with the addition of it's sweet and nutty topping, the picture is complete.







Frank's Extras


After several requests, I am adding my Marinated and Crumbed Tofu Steaks  to the 'extras' menu this week
for those of you who are curious as to what the amazingly prepared, incredibly delicious tofu experience is really like.

This week, due to popular demand, I will again be offering my Energy Bites in packs of 30.

These are oat based and include a host of nutrient dense ingredients including almonds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and linseed meal.

Perfect for a protein hit or for a snack on the run, they are listed on the order form underneath the main menu items.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 14/8/15

This Week's Menu


This week I will be putting a vegan spin on everyone's favourite pasta dish, Spaghetti Bolognese.

With the mince being replaced with protein and fibre dense lentils, this dish is as delicious as the traditional one and twice as nutritious. 
With a rich tomato sauce and a vegan parmesan cheese topping, you will not be disappointed I can assure you!

A side order of Herb and garlic bread is available on the menu to complete the picture.

Chocolate!!!! Do I Have Your Attention?


And now that I do have your attention, it is with great pleasure that I can share with you the absolute decadence of this week's dessert!
Oreo Topped Chocolate Donuts!!!
These rich and chocolatey (is that even a word?) donuts are baked not fried, so are low in fat and with just a hint of cinnamon cooked in, are packed full of flavour.

The discovery within the vegan community that Oreo Cookies are in fact vegan, has worked to my advantage as I use them as a topping every now and then to add some decadence to cakes and donuts. 

With a slathering of rich chocolate icing and the aforementioned Oreos, these donuts will be sure to please anyone with a chocolate fixation.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 7/8/15

I'm Back!!!!!


Hi all! 

I'm back in the kitchen after having spent a week in sunny Darwin. The temperature change was wonderful and it certainly thawed me out but I sure did miss my own cooking! 

Now this may sound a bit conceited, I understand that, but I struggled to find any hearty vegan options there and spent the week 'settling' for meals of either hot chips, (which in small quantities are fine, and even then only as a treat) or entire meals of fruit from the supermarket.

Don't get me wrong, I love fruit with a passion, but I was craving something a bit more substantial as a meal, which I never really found.
Last night on my first night home, I cooked up a big pot of veggie soup with all the trimmings, so thick I could stand my spoon up in it! *sigh*
There really is no place like home!!

I look forward to seeing you all again this Friday as the just frank kitchen gets back into action.

This Week's Menu


This week I have an absolute favourite on the menu in my Chick Pea and Winter Veggie Hotpot.
With lots of chunky winter veggies coupled with chickpeas and a thick savoury gravy, this is sure to fill and warm your belly as the chilly winter weather continues to blanket the region.

Tomato and Rosemary Scones will be on offer as the perfect accompaniment.

Dessert this week will be a Mini Banana Pancake Stack with my home made mixed berry syrup. 
If you would prefer maple syrup, please leave a note in the special instructions box for me.
