Welcome Back To My Kitchen



Hello again as we not only begin a new week, but a new month as well. I seriously don't know where the time goes and before we know it, it will be Christmas yet again. 

A huge bonus this week was the arrival of the beautiful spring sunshine! How nice is it to feel the warmth of the sun on your skin after so many months clothed in layers and layers of winter garments, and with this being said, this week there's a menu to reflect this warmer weather.

Introducing......Date and Almond Granola



This week I am extremely excited to be able to introduce my new Date and Almond Granola to you after many weeks in the test kitchen tweaking the recipe to get just the right balance of flavours, textures and nutrients. 

This delicious granola has been out in the 'just frank' testing community for several weeks and is now available for you to purchase from the newly created Frank's Everyday Menu which resides below the regular Friday Menu on the order form. 

With the first and second batches having already sold out, I am working on stocking up supplies again to fill this week's orders.


A Morrocan Flavour


Chickpeas or Garbanzo Beans as they are otherwise known, are one of my favourite legumes and lend themselves to so many dishes, both sweet and savoury.

This week they will feature in both main meals and show their versatility in the stark differences in the two meals.

I will be making a Sweet Potato Falafel, which are a Middle Eastern Patty traditionally made with chickpeas and spices, but I will be adding a delicious twist with the addition of some perfectly roasted sweet potato and garlic. 

The Falafel's will be served with a Tomato and Couscous salad over a bed of baby spinach with a dollop of hommus. This can all be coupled with the Wholemeal Flatbread either as a wrap or as a pocket in which to stuff the Falafel and salad ingredients.

The second dish will be a Chickpea and Veggie Soup for those folks still craving a hot dish. With a delicious selection of winter veggies, the chickpeas add texture as well as a huge powerhouse of nutrients to this thick and hearty soup.


Doubly Delicious Desserts.....Again


This week, I am again offering two sweet treats.


Last week's introduction of my Chocolate Pecan and Caramel Crisp Bar proved to be a huge success with a second round of deliveries undertaken last Friday afternoon for those requesting a second serving. This, as you can imagine, pleased me no end! (Thank you to all of you! <3)

These feature again this week and will then remain on the new Frank's Everyday Menu below the Friday menu. 

Also on the dessert menu is everyone's favourite, Apple Cake. As always, my version of this delicious cake features a cinnamon glaze sprinkled with oven roasted walnuts.
Need I say more?? : )


As always, these and all other menu items are available in larger quantities for morning/afternoon teas or for catering purposes upon request.

With the ongoing popularity of my Marinated and Crumbed Tofu Steaks, and with a growing number of folks more than happy to try this delicacy, I am, for the time being, moving it to Frank's Everyday Menu for your convenience.

I'm super thrilled at the number of people who have now been 'converted' by trying this mostly misunderstood source of protein the way I prepare it.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 25/9/15

Greetings From The Kitchen


Hello again from the just frank kitchen as I prepare for another busy week of meal preparations.

I'm not sure about you, but I keep waiting for the spring weather to kick in on a more permanent basis so I can adjust my wardrobe and food choices to match it, but so far, we are limited to just a taste here and there, and that's ok. I'm grateful for small mercies.

As regular visitors to my page will no doubt already know, I very keenly spend quite a lot of time in the test kitchen creating new recipes to share with you all, and this week has been no exception.

I have had some very keen taste testers trying out a few new goodies recently, and with the feedback being extremely positive and encouraging, these new items will be appearing on the menu very soon.



It's So Easy Eating Green


With another stunning crop of Broccoli ready to be harvested from my veggie patch, (and I'm sure the last for the season), I am taking advantage of it by offering a delicious Italian dish this week incorporating this delicious 'greenery' into a nutritious pine nut based pesto which will be served over a bed of fettuccine, topped with my handmade vegan parmesan.


This dish is also available in a gluten-free spaghetti version.

Herb and garlic bread is available on the menu as the perfect pasta accompaniment.



Frank's Extra Mains


Due to popular demand, there are also two extra mains on the menu for those who are looking for an extra meal to enjoy over the weekend or to pop into the freezer for the coming week.

These are available under the heading 'Frank's Extra Meals,' are both gluten free and will be delivered on Friday along with the regular menu options.


Doubly Delicious Dessert

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 18/9/15

Welcome Back To My Kitchen


I would imagine you are all as happy as I am that we have just had a burst of beautiful Spring weather that actually coincided with the weekend, and although we are in for another coolish week, I'm super thrilled to have spent some time out in the garden and at the beach feeling the sun on my skin. 

Throughout this past week, I have been furiously juicing carrots as I consciously try to reduce my coffee intake. 
I never buy the bottled variety, preferring instead to juice my own carrots and drink the juice as soon as possible after this to maximise my nutrient intake.

Wish me luck as I continue my caffeine detox.....

Two-Way Stir Fry


On the menu this week, I will be offering a delicious veggie stir-fry served two ways. 

For those of you who are lovers of tofu, there will be the marinated tofu version or the roasted cashew alternative for those who haven't yet acquired a taste for tofu.

Broccoli, zucchini, green beans, baby corn and mushrooms are just a few of the fresh veggies that will make up this nutritious and colourful dish, and my own blend of sauces and spices will complete the picture.

Caramel Bananas


I'm not quite sure what to say about Caramel Bananas that hasn't already been said and if you've never indulged in them before, you are in for a treat.

My vegan version of this sweet treat is to die for, and when served with a dollop of dairy-free vanilla ice-cream, it's a match made in heaven.

And Introducing.....


 For those of you who are friends with me on my just frank facebook page, you will have seen that I have a new cookie out which is making its debut on the Serene Cuisine menu this week.

My Super Oatmeal Cookies are fibre rich and oat based and contain ingredients that are so nutrient dense yet barely visible such as ground walnuts and flax meal. 

With the blended textures of pumpkin seeds and organic sultanas, these newly created cookies are the perfect accompaniment to your favourite cuppa and for those of you with a penchant for 'dunking,' these are definitely for you!

Gluten Free Zesty Lemon Bliss Balls 


Zesty Lemon Bliss Balls are on the menu again this week and are a fabulous sweet and nutritious treat with the added bonus of being gluten free.
Made with a blend of dried fruits, nuts and seeds, and with just enough organic lemon juice and zest to give them that zesty kick, they are always a popular favourite on the menu.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 11/9/15

Another Busy Week Ahead?



Hello again as we all prepare to begin yet another busy week, unless you're one of the lucky ones who don't have an agenda or a schedule to keep. 

I'm working hard towards becoming one of those which is kind of an oxymoron really.

I know from my discussions with other busy folks during the working week that we all seem to be literally running through life snatching small moments of down-time as we go, rather than making it a priority, which it should be. 

Recharging our batteries  is just as important to our health and wellbeing as refuelling our bodies with the essential nutrients that we know we need. Fatigue and sickness are obvious symptoms of burnout, and with chronic tiredness and being constantly time poor causing us to make poor eating choices, a vicious cycle is set in motion.

As I begin my working week, I have promised myself to remain conscious of how I am spending my time and will endeavour to take more of it for myself so as to optimise the quality of time I spend on this beautiful planet of ours. 

I pray that you will too.


Double Delight


 This week on the menu, I am offering two main meals for you to choose from and with Winter on its way out, (I can hear you all cheering!!) I thought I would use the last of the cold weather to offer a soup option made with a beautiful crop of Broccoli straight from my veggie patch. 

Now that's fresh!

CousCous is always a hit no matter how I serve it and this week I am preparing a Sweet Potato and Red Bean version which is not only nutrient dense and delicious, but extremely visually appealing with the mix of colourful ingredients it contains.


A Nutty Dessert Option


With some quality time spent in the test kitchen this week, I have a new and wholesome treat for you on the sweets menu, although this sweet is so healthy, you will wonder if it is indeed a 'sweet!'


My Nutty Pumpkin Wholegrain Muffins will make their debut on the Serene Cuisine menu this week, and if, like me, you love whole grain goodies, this one is sure to please.
Pumpkin, walnuts, oats, peanut butter, flax meal and pumpkin seeds are just a few of the life-giving and delicious ingredients that give these muffins their wholesomeness.  

These muffins freeze well and would also make a fantastic 'on-the-go' breakfast for those of you who look for something quick as you're running out the door in the mornings.
