Hello From My Kitchen


As another week unfolds in the just frank kitchen, cooking for my Friday 'Serene Cuisine' menu is proving to be only a small part of my week as my list of special orders clients grows by the day.

Gluten-free, lactose-free, food intolerances and individual food preferences are all reasons for clients to seek out an individually tailored menu to select from and in turn, have meals prepared just the way they need/like them.

As is always the case, anything from the just frank kitchen is meat, egg and dairy free and I use locally sourced organic produce wherever possible.


A Touch Of Asia

An Oriental flavour appears on the menu this week with my adaptation of a traditional Chow Mein recipe.

I have chosen to make this dish noodle-free to cater for those of you who are gluten sensitive and as quite a few of the traditional Asian noodles are egg based, it was another reason to omit them.

A selection of shredded veggies will form the basis of this delicious and wholesome meal with the addition of some nutritionally dense lentils. 
These will be combined with a blend of carefully chosen spices and sauces and then finally topped with seasoned and roasted cashew nuts.


Just Like Mum Used To Make


On this week's dessert menu, I will be offering Golden Syrup Dumplings, just like my Mum used to make, except that I have tweaked the recipe to make them dairy free to fit with the cruelty-free, vegan lifestyle theme.

I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't love this sweet and hearty dessert topped with ice cream, which these will be served with and which will also be dairy free. 

Frank's Snack Boxes


New to the 'Serene Cuisine' repertoire last week, was the Frank Snack Box, which consisted of a selection of cakes, slices and energy bites suitable for office morning teas, to share with others or as a way to try a selection of what I have to offer in the way of sweet and healthy treats.

The contents of the boxes will vary in the coming weeks as I offer different combinations for you to try.

This week the selection will consist of Apple Cake with Cinnamon Frosting, Sultana and Walnut Cake, Mini Orange and Oatbran Muffins and Energy Bites.

These are on the menu under the heading of Frank's Extras.

Frank's Extras


My Marinated and Crumbed Tofu Steaks  will again feature on the 'extras' menu this week for those of you who are curious as to what the amazingly prepared, incredibly delicious tofu experience is really like.

These yummy tofu steaks are marinated overnight in my unique blend of sauces, herbs and spices and crumbed in a seasoned wholegrain crumb before being gently fried in extra virgin olive oil.

I was absolutely thrilled by the number of folks who contacted me after trying this delicacy last week with some very positive feedback which is exactly the type of feedback I had anticipated.



Order Cut Off Time Change




Due to the growth of my customer base and the increasing number of meals I am preparing for delivery each Friday, I am moving the order cut off time back 24 hrs to the Wednesday evening of the week you are ordering for.
In the first month, I was able to easily prepare all meals the morning of delivery if I managed a 4am start. 
The  number of orders is now so great, that I will need to close orders on Wednesday @ 6pm to enable me to finalise numbers, buy in stock and prepare meals in time for delivery on Friday morning.

I appreciate your cooperation with this change and hope that it works for all of us.
