'Serene Cuisine' Menu 1/5/15

Welcome Back To My Kitchen

As another week rolls around, and as we edge that little bit closer to Winter, I can feel the excitement building for me in the kitchen as we approach my favourite time of the year culinary-wise. For me, there is nothing like a big pot of thick veggie soup bubbling away on the stovetop, it's smells permeating every nook and cranny of the house, bringing forth some of my fondest childhood memories.

This Week's Friday Menu

This week, I will share with you one of my favourite soups, a chickpea and veggie combination which is both filling and nutritious and sure to warm your belly on these chilly Autumn days. This soup's flavours are well complimented when served in conjunction with a flavoursome Cornmeal Muffin, which along with the soup, is gluten free.
Dessert this week is a chunky piece of moist Apple cake containing a healthy serving of locally grown, organic Granny Smith Apple, topped with a beautiful Walnut (again, locally and organically grown) and Cinnamon Glaze.

And The Winner Is....

Zesty Lemon Bliss Balls

This morning in the 'just frank' kitchen, as I prepare goodies for tomorrow's meal deliveries, the stand-out winners for the most popular menu items are the Zesty Lemon Bliss Balls, which are a brand new addition to the Serene Cuisine repertoire.

Available in packs of either 4 or 30, these little protein packed balls are gluten-free and are a nutritious blend of raw cashew nuts, almonds, dates, chia seeds, coconut and lemon zest.

View them on the menu on the right-hand side of this page and fill in the order form and click submit if you wish to order.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 24/4/15

Welcome Back To My Kitchen

I cannot believe another week has passed since I sat here writing up a new menu to share with you all. With so much interest being shown in this beautiful, healthy and wholesome food, the oven has been on constantly as I prepare goodies for those of you who have been ordering.

New Gluten-Free Bliss Balls

This week, I have added a new Bliss Ball to the everyday menu. This one is also 'gluten-free' and has a beautiful zesty tang to it, with the addition of both lemon juice and zest. These balls are ground almond and raw cashew nut based, with chia seeds and coconut. Rich in protein, they are the perfect healthy sweet treat, and like the other varieties, are available in bags of 4 or 30.

This Week's Friday Menu

With the cooler weather becoming a little more regular now as Winter approaches, the menu is reflecting this with salads making way for warm and hearty veggie dishes that are sure to put a fire in your belly, as the temperatures dip beneath the 20's.
This week I am serving a colourful, tasty and nutritious Vegetable Chop Suey with an array of fresh, organic goodies straight from my veggie patch. Accompanying this will be a chunky piece of Wholemeal Date and Walnut Cake, lightly iced with a sprinkling of locally grown Walnuts. With Anzac Day approaching, I have also added the traditional Anzac Biscuits to the meal deal list.

Nutrient Dense and Flavour Rich

Nutrient dense and flavour rich, these Gluten-free Bliss Balls have been one of the most popular goodies on the Serene Cuisine menu in the last few weeks.

They began as an 'extra' item in the weekly meal deal, but quickly elevated themselves to a feature menu item after requests for them to be available in larger quantities.
Along with their closely matched cousins Energy balls, they are on the everyday menu in packs of either 4 or 30.

What's Inside

The Bliss Balls contain almonds, dates, prunes, walnuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and cacao powder and are 100% gluten free.

The Energy Balls are oat based with generous helpings of coconut, peanuts, flax meal, sultanas, vegan choc chips, agave nectar and chia seeds.

With their popularity growing rapidly each week, if anyone is looking for me mid-week, I can probably be found in the just frank kitchen up to my elbows in ingredients hand rolling hundreds of these little balls of goodness.

Love and light,
Leah.

'Serene Cuisine' Menu 17/4/15

Welcome Back To My Kitchen

Another week in the 'just frank' kitchen has begun with Mum and I collecting some beautiful organic Granny Smith apples from a friend's apple tree on Sunday in preparation for this week's dessert.

You simply cannot beat a bowl of old fashioned apple crumble with a dollop of ice-cream, which is exactly what is on offer as I finalise this week's menu.

At the heart of the menu is a beautiful thick and nutritious serving of lentil and veggie soup, full of vitamins and minerals and extremely high in dietary fibre.
If you are wanting to know more about the nutritional benefits of lentils, click here for more info.

New Order Form

Last week, I introduced a new ordering system which proved to be super successful, increasing the number of orders I received through its sheer simplicity of use. This week I have added an option to the form which allows you to select a delivery time that suits you best and some extra information at the bottom of the form to let you know what's coming up.

Anzac Day

With Anzac day approaching, I will have Anzac Biscuits on offer later this week so keep an eye out for those.

From The Bottom Of My Heart

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the wonderful support and continuous positive feedback you have given me as I have taken my 'serene cuisine' concept to the streets. It has been quite overwhelming and has certainly reassured me that people really are looking for healthier meal options in their week.

I'm super excited as another week of meal preparation and deliveries get underway and I'm looking forward to seeing all of my regular customers from past weeks, as well as a host of new faces as they discover 'serene cuisine.'

How To Order

View this week's menu on the right-hand side of this page and complete and submit the order form to place your order.

Wednesday in the 'Serene Cuisine' Kitchen

Good morning Wednesday, and with a short week in progress, today will be a busy day in the kitchen as I prepare for tomorrow's meal deliveries.

There's another nutrient-dense menu on offer again this week (scroll down to see the menu in the previous post) and as I'm continually on the lookout for locally grown, organic ingredients, there's often quite a bit of time involved in the preparation of produce before the cooking begins.

This week Banana and Walnut Muffins are on the 'serene cuisine' menu, so today I will be shelling fresh local walnuts ready for baking later tonight.
I've always been a huge fan of nuts, but I never really liked walnuts until a friend introduced me to fresh walnuts as opposed to the packet variety.
Nuts can turn rancid quite quickly due to their high fat content and walnuts in particular, have the tendency to turn slightly bitter when stored for long periods of time.
Fresh walnuts will certainly be a flavoursome and nutritious addition to this batch of muffins.

Due to popular demand, I am now offering Protein Balls and Gluten Free Bliss Balls in packs of 30 for $20 a pack.
The small bags will still be on offer in my lunch meals but for those of you who have been asking for them in larger quantities, they are now available.

Please contact me to order or for any other special requests.

Happy Wednesday to you all and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Love and light,
Leah <3
