"Brekky in a Jar"

If you are anything like me, mornings are a whirlwind of taking care of the 'to do list' before rushing out the door to the calling of the world, something I am mindfully working on changing for myself.

In answering the 'call,' it's often the things that matter the most that are left undone, such as nourishing our bodies well.

I thought I would share a very quick and easy breakfast that requires very little preparation, most of which is done the night before, leaving your morning free for the aforementioned callings.

I use a mason jar for this recipe but any medium sized jar is fine, or even a largish glass for that matter.

Quantities are very flexible and can be adjusted to suit your requirements and taste.

Frank's Brekky In A Jar


Add the following ingredients to the jar in the order listed to obtain the best consistency.

1/2 cup of granola or muesli (or plain rolled oats) of your choice (of course I used the 'just frank' Date and Almond variety! :))
1 banana sliced
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup of organic Almond milk or other plant based milk


Place lid on the jar and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, remove the lid, add extra milk if needed and enjoy your blend straight from the jar!
It's that easy!
Of course, you can add whatever fruits, nuts and seeds that take your fancy, but make sure the oats and harder ingredients are on the bottom of the jar for the best results.
